OPD Consultation

“OPD” typically stands for “Outpatient Department.” An OPD consultation refers to a medical consultation or visit with a healthcare provider that takes place in an outpatient setting. Outpatient care is medical care or treatment that does not require an overnight stay in a hospital. It could include consultations with general practitioners, specialists, or other healthcare professionals.

During an OPD consultation, a patient typically visits a healthcare facility, such as a clinic or outpatient department of a hospital, at a scheduled appointment time. The healthcare provider assesses the patient’s condition, discusses symptoms, reviews medical history, and may order diagnostic tests if necessary. Treatment plans, prescriptions, or further referrals may be provided based on the assessment.

Infertility Treatment

Infertility treatment involves various medical interventions aimed at helping individuals or couples conceive when they are experiencing difficulty getting pregnant. The appropriate treatment depends on the underlying cause of infertility, and options can range from lifestyle changes to assisted reproductive technologies. Here are some common infertility treatments:

Lifestyle changes: Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding substances like tobacco and excessive alcohol, can have a positive impact on fertility.

Medications: Fertility drugs can stimulate ovulation in women or improve sperm production and function in men. These medications are often used in conjunction with other fertility treatments.

Sonography

An ultrasound (sonogram) is an imaging technique that uses sound waves to produce images of internal organs. A regular ultrasound may be recommended when the doctor needs to investigate causes of certain illnesses or symptoms that the body has been showing related to the female reproductive system. Our sonography services are offered in the best quality facility with world-class infrastructure and most advanced equipment.

In addition to the regular ultrasound, we also offer foetal ultrasound images that can help the healthcare provider to evaluate the baby’s growth and development, and monitor a woman’s pregnancy. The first foetal ultrasound is usually done during the first trimester to confirm the pregnancy and estimate how long one has been pregnant.

Anti Natal Care

Once your pregnancy is confirmed, it’s important to see your GP or a midwife as soon as possible so you can schedule the appointments you will need. Appointments during your pregnancy are called your antenatal appointments or antenatal care.

Antenatal appointments will allow your GP, midwife and other people on your healthcare team to help both you and your baby stay healthy. Even if your pregnancy is going well and you’re feeling well, it’s important for you to attend your appointments so that any potential risks can be identified and prevented, or reduced.

Medical Abortion

Abortion is a complex and sensitive topic, often encompassing ethical, moral, and legal considerations. It refers to the termination of a pregnancy, resulting in the removal or expulsion of the embryo or fetus before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortions can occur spontaneously, known as a miscarriage, or be induced through medical procedures.

Laws and regulations regarding abortion vary widely around the world, and public opinions on the matter are diverse. Some places have more restrictive laws, while others may allow for a wider range of circumstances under which abortion is permitted.

It’s crucial to approach discussions on abortion with empathy and respect for diverse perspectives, acknowledging the personal and sometimes challenging nature of the decision for individuals involved. If you have specific questions or if there’s a particular aspect you’d like to discuss, feel free to share more details.

Normal Delivery

A normal delivery, also known as a vaginal delivery, is the natural process of childbirth where the baby is delivered through the mother’s vagina. It’s considered the most common and typically safest method of childbirth when both the mother and baby are healthy and there are no complications.

During a normal delivery, contractions of the uterus help to push the baby through the birth canal. The process usually involves stages of labor, including the dilation of the cervix, the descent of the baby through the birth canal, and the delivery of the placenta after the baby is born.

Many factors can influence the course of labor, such as the mother’s health, the baby’s position, and the progress of cervical dilation. Medical professionals, such as obstetricians and midwives, monitor the process closely and provide support to ensure a safe delivery.

Cesarean Delivery

A Cesarean delivery, commonly known as a C-section, is a surgical procedure in which a baby is delivered through an incision made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. This method is employed when a vaginal delivery is not considered safe or possible for the well-being of the mother or the baby.

There are various reasons why a Cesarean delivery might be recommended or performed, including:

Complications during labor: If there are complications such as prolonged labor, fetal distress, or the baby is not in the correct position for a vaginal delivery.

Multiple pregnancies: In cases of twins, triplets, or more, a C-section might be planned or required.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure in which a woman’s uterus is removed. The procedure can be total (removing the uterus and cervix) or subtotal/partial (removing only the uterus, leaving the cervix intact). In some cases, additional structures such as the fallopian tubes and ovaries may also be removed, depending on the medical reasons for the hysterectomy.

There are various reasons why a hysterectomy might be recommended, including:

Uterine fibroids: Non-cancerous growths in the uterus that can cause pain, bleeding, or other symptoms.

Uterine cancer: Removal of the uterus may be necessary if cancer is detected.

Endometriosis: A condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to pain and other symptoms.

Family Planning Operation

It sounds like you’re referring to a family planning operation, which could encompass various surgical procedures or methods aimed at helping individuals or couples control and manage their family size. These procedures are often performed with the intention of preventing or limiting future pregnancies. Here are a few common family planning operations:

Tubal Ligation: This is a surgical procedure in which a woman’s fallopian tubes are either cut, sealed, or blocked, preventing eggs from reaching the uterus and thus preventing fertilization.

Vasectomy: This is a surgical procedure for men in which the tubes that carry sperm from the testicles to the urethra are cut, preventing the release of sperm during ejaculation.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery or keyhole surgery, is a surgical technique that uses small incisions and specialized instruments to perform various procedures. Instead of making a large incision, as in traditional open surgery, laparoscopic surgery involves the insertion of a laparoscope (a thin tube with a light and camera) and other instruments through small incisions.

Key features of laparoscopic surgery include:

Small incisions: Typically, the surgeon makes a few small incisions, each around half an inch to an inch in length, through which the laparoscope and other instruments are inserted.

Visualization: The laparoscope provides high-definition video images of the internal organs, allowing the surgeon to see and navigate the surgical site.
